Information provided by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office:
VEHICLE KEYED: A report of an employee’s vehicle being keyed while working at Miami East Local Schools was made.
The reporting party said his vehicle had been scratched “Keyed” the prior week. The reporting party stated he found the damages to his car at home but the prior day he had been at Walmart, Mejier, and Culver’s in Troy. He stated this is a vehicle he does not drive very often and is not exactly sure when/where it was damaged.
The reporting party had already made an insurance claim and needed a police report.
OVI: A deputy stopped the involved vehicle for a lane violation on Staley Road and State Route 201, Tipp City. The driver was arrested for OVI and later issued citations for OVI, open container, and lanes of travel.
BURGLARY: A deputy responded to the 2100 block of Hemm Road, Piqua, on a burglary complaint. Upon arrival the deputy made contact with the homeowner who stated sometime between the hours on 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. someone had broke into his home.
POSSESSION: A deputy stopped a silver Grand Prix bearing for an expired registration at Willowcreek Way and McKaig, Troy. After the stop was completed, Jacob Templeton was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A deputy spoke with a resident in the 200 block of Locust View Way, Troy, reference this case. He advised sometime in the last two days someone egged his vehicle. It was parked in front of his residence in the street. He stated there were no suspects and the eggs had been cleaned up. He had damage to the clear coat but was unsure if it was worth filing a claim to his insurance.
THEFT: A resident in the 6000 block of State Route 41 in Newberry Township, reports that during the listed dates someone took a generator from his property.
The generator was sitting in the driveway against the garage. No other items are missing and they did not gain access to the garage.
MEAT TRUCK : A deputy was dispatched to the area of Hetzler Road and Augusta Road reference two males going door to door attempting to sell meat from their pick up truck.
The deputy found the listed vehicle upon my arrival. It had a commercial grade freezer in the bed of the pick up truck. It was driven by Mr. Daniels. Mr. Stahl was at the front door of 9717 Augusta with two boxes of meat.
Daniels and Stahl advised they were selling for Butcher Shop Food Distributors. They showed the deputy a 12 volt power converter which powered the commercial grade freezer in the bed of the truck.
They could not produce a their mobile food establishment vendor license as required by ORC chapters 3717.99 and 3717.21 and OAC chapter 901:3-4-02. They were instructed to stop selling until they comply with Ohio laws. They were warned for driving on an expired registration and advised to contact their employer.
THEFT: A deputy responded to 6500 block of Tipp-Elizabeth Road, Tipp City, for a burglary complaint. The home was broken into during daytime hours. Firearms, money and other items were stolen.
THEFT: A deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of State Route 36, Springcreek Township in regards to a burglary complaint.
THEFT: A deputy responded to 316 Broadway Ave. in Piqua to speak with a reporting party in regards to a theft that occurred at 7805 S. County Road 25-A, Tipp City. The reporting party advised while he was at work, his car was broken into and $200 was taken from the center console. The passenger side door handle and been pried open and the lock was broken.
MISSING TEEN: A parent reported his 17-year-old grandson did not go to school and ran away from home.
K9 WALK THROUGH: Deputy Roberts walked K9 Bear through the Upper Valley Career Center in Piqua for a drug sniff. Two demos were completed for 2 separate classes.
THEFT AND POSSESSION: A deputy was dispatched to 8112 State Route 55 #1, West Milton, in reference, to a theft not in progress. When a deputy arrived on scene, he spoke with the complainant/property owner, Yvonne Williams. Yvonne stated on this date between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. someone stole her Dell laptop computer. Yvonne stated the laptop was the only property stolen from her home. Yvonne stated she had no suspects. Yvonne had no paperwork for the laptop. The laptop was in her bedroom. Yvonne showed the deputy where her laptop was laying in her bedroom. When the deputy walked into her bedroom he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana. In plain view, the deputy located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Yvonne was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The theft of the laptop is still pending.
BURGLARY: A deputy responded to the 4000 block of Miami Shelby Road, Fletcher, on a burglary complaint. The homeowner stated sometime between the hours of 6:25 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. someone broke into his residence.
BAD CHECK: A deputy met with Dennis Patty, owner of Patty’s IGA in Bradford, in reference to a bad check he had received at his business.
OVI: A deputy stopped the involved vehicle northbound on Interstate 75 Troy exit for a lane violation. The driver, Mitchell Hudson, was arrested for OVI and later issued a citation for OVI, DUS, and lanes of travel. The back passenger, Billy Williams was issued a citation for possession of marijuana. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
