Piqua police reports highlights

PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.

SOLICITORS: A complainant reported a male soliciting members of the Miami County YMCA on W. High Street in Piqua for money on Sept. 18 at 8:43 a.m. Cawthorn Miree, Jr., 49 of Piqua was cited for minor misdemeanor panhandling.

SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of a possible drug deal between two vehicles in the area of South and Adams Streets on Sept. 18 at 3:50 p.m. The vehicles were gone upon officer arrival.

TRESPASSING: There was a report of a suspicious male trying to sell knives in a local business at the Miami Valley Centre Mall on E. Ash Street on Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. Employees also stated that the male had been making unwanted sexual comments to them, according to police reports.

THEFT: An item was taken from the inside of a vehicle that was parked on lot for Purk Automotive, located on the 300 block of E. Statler Road. It was reportedly taken sometime between Sept. 16 and Sept. 18.

Another item was reportedly taken out of a vehicle at Purk Automotive overnight between Sept. 17 and Sept. 18.

Multiple pieces of jewelry were reported stolen from a residence on the 1000 block of Park Avenue on Sept. 18 at 6:13 p.m.

Two twelve packs of beer were reported stolen from Speedway on Scott Drive on Sept. 19 at 1:16 a.m.

A cell phone was report missing and possibly stolen at Lucky’s Bar, located on the 100 block of N. Main Street, on Sept. 19 between 12:15-1:15 a.m.

DISTURBANCE: There was a report of a disturbance involving a neighbor on the 1700 block of New Haven Road on Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other.

There was another report of a disturbance involving neighbors on the 400 block of W. High Street on Sept. 19 at 2:50 a.m.

There was a report of a male and female causing problems at a residence on the 200 block of Gordon Street on Sept. 19 at 3 a.m. There were no reports or threats of violence.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A tail light was broken on a parked vehicle at Irvin Auto Sales, located on the 400 block of Spring Street, on Sept. 18 at 10 p.m.

A van parked on the 300 block of S. Downing Street was spray-painted with black spray-paint on Sept. 19 at 3 a.m. The driver side window was also broken. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

A vehicle was damaged on the 1600 block of Washington Avenue overnight between 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 19. Two tires were damaged, and there was spray paint on the vehicle.

A vehicle was reported damaged on the 300 block of Glenwood Avenue overnight between 10 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 19. One of the tires was slashed and the rear license plate was spray-painted.

Another vehicle was reported damaged on the 400 block of Glenwood Avenue overnight between Sept. 18 and Sept. 19. It was spray-painted.

FOUND PROPERTY: There was a report of a found bicycle on the 500 block of W. North Street on Sept. 19. It was taken into police property.
