Head-on crash causes injuries

According to reports the driver of a northbound minivan was attempting to hand a cup to a youngster behind her. She went left of center, crossed into the southbound lanes and hit a southbound pickup truck head-on. The driver of the pickup was not injured. Three of the five persons, including an eight and a nine-year-old, were transported to Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment. It is undetermined if the minivan driver and passengers were wearing seat belts. None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening. The crash is under investigation by Piqua police.
