Crash injures two

NEWTON TOWNSHIP – Heavy rain may have played a part in a crash on St. Rt. 718 on Friday afternoon.

Miami County deputies and Pleasant Hill Fire and rescue were called to the 5000 block of St. Rt. 718 on a report of a crash around 4 p.m.

The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle lost control, left the roadway and crashed into a pair of trees.

He, and his female passenger were transported to Upper Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. A small boy who was in a car seat was apparently not injured according to deputies on the scene.

No names have yet been released. The crash in under investigation by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
