Piqua Baptist to host benefit concert

Singer Tommy Renfro to perform

For the Daily Call

PIQUA — Join singer Tommy Renfro for a night of praise and worship at Piqua Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Sept. 12.

Renfro began his singing career in church at age 12. His passion for music led him to form the Christian rock group Tidal Wave, which toured throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky from 1999 to 2003.

After the members of Tidal Wave went their separate ways, Renfro immersed himself in the Southern gospel world for several years, then began seeking ways to mix all of his musical influences into a unique sound that combines the hooks of country stars like Keith Urban with the likes of contemporary artist such as Mercy Me.

Renfro’s singles include “The Light” and “Show and Tell,” which made headway on the Billboard charts. Visit Renfro’s website at www.tommyrenfro.com to learn more about him and his ministry.

Pre-sale tickets are $10. At the door, the cost will be $12. To purchase tickets, order online at www.unitedmarriage.org/resources, email [email protected] or call (937) 423-4444.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit United Marriage Encounter (UME), a worldwide marriage ministry. UME holds weekend retreats for couples around the world. The next weekend in this area is Nov. 6-8 at the Days Inn, Sidney. Register online at www.unitedmarriage.org/register.

The cost of attending a UME Weekend (room, meals and other expenses) has already been paid for by donations from previously encountered couples and from event proceeds like this concert.

United Marriage Encounter would like to thank their co-sponsors, Piqua Baptist Church, & Thrivent Financial.
