Piqua police reports highlights

PIQUA —The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by the Piqua police reports.

DISTURBANCE: Police responded to a report of a verbal disturbance and checked the area of the 1100 block of Laura Drive on Aug. 8 at 1:37 a.m.

Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute on the 8700 block of Sherry Drive on Aug. 8 at 1:39 a.m. A resident’s son left to calm down. There were no reports of violence.

There was a report of a disturbance on the 600 block of Second Street on Aug. 8 at 12:49 p.m. It was reportedly only a verbal argument between a male and female.

A resident reported a suspect “picked her up and threw her to the ground and destroyed the house” on the 800 block of W. North Street on Aug. 8 at 3:37 p.m. According to police reports, the suspect “ran from the scene as police were approaching and… failed to stop when asked to stop.” Piqua resident Chance P. Kloecker, 20, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence and second-degree misdemeanor obstructing official business in connection with this incident.

There was a report of a verbal argument over property on the 300 block of Staunton Street on Aug. 9 at 4:24 p.m.

There was a report of a domestic dispute at the Piqua Village Apartments on Aug. 9 at 7:20 p.m.

A male and female were reportedly involved in an altercation at the Red Carpet Inn on Country Club Road on Aug. 9 at 7:51 p.m.

There was a report of a male and female arguing on the 500 block of Riverside Drive on Aug. 9 at 9:24 p.m.

ASSIST SQUAD: Police responded to an assist squad call where a female claimed that “someone had tried to abduct her at gunpoint” six hours prior to the squad call on Aug. 8 at 1:51 a.m. The female reportedly had a swollen hand from punching a glass car window.

ASSAULT: A victim reported being struck in the face with a piece of wood while riding a bike in Lock 9 Park on Aug. 8. The victim said that there were approximately 20 juveniles in the area at the time of the incident. The victim also claimed to have been knocked out for six hours. The victim was transported to the hospital on Aug. 8 at 8:17 a.m.

THEFT: A catalytic converter reportedly went missing from a vehicle between 7 p.m. on Aug. 6 and 9:21 a.m. on Aug. 8 from the Budgetel Inn and Suites on 902 Scot Drive.

A suspect reportedly shoplifted a portal power station and other items after using an EBT card to pay for food at Walmart on Aug. 8 at 2:45 p.m.

SUSPICIOUS: A resident reported finding a spoiled watermelon next his mailbox on the 1300 block of Camaro Court on Aug. 8 at 12:25 p.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Damage to a fence was reported on the 500 block of Spotted Doe Trail on Aug. 8 that occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 8.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: A male juvenile reportedly went to Ulbrich’s Market on Wayne Street and allegedly feigned an illness and had 911 called on Aug. 8 at 2:46 p.m. The male admitted to not being ill. He was transported home by an officer and cited for disorderly conduct.

A reportedly intoxicated person was found lying on the ground in the area of W. Ash and N. Wayne Streets on Aug. 9 at 2:24 a.m. His friend was not able to get him to go with them. Piqua resident David S. Hunt, 25, was cited for disorderly conduct.

A reportedly intoxicated male was knocking on a door at the 1700 block of Dubois Drive on Aug. 9 at 5:22 a.m. The male was at the wrong house. He was transported to UVMC for a possible head injury.

OPEN CONTAINER: An officer observed a person standing on the sidewalk with an open container of alcohol outside of Main Source Bank on W. High Street on Aug. 8 at 11:48 p.m. The person was warned for the violation and dumped out the alcohol.

BURGLARY: A television and window air conditioner were reported stolen from the 1100 block of Garbry Road on Aug. 9 at 12:30 a.m.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: A resident reportedly found possible drug paraphernalia in her son’s room on the 600 block of S. Sunset Drive on Aug. 9 at 4:37 p.m. Police collected the items and entered them into evidence to be destroyed.

DEAD BODY: An 88 year old female was found unresponsive on the 300 block of Westview Drive on Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. She was found to be deceased and was released to the funeral home.
