M-U student suspended for making threats

Staff reports

WEST MILTON — A Milton-Union junior high student has been suspended after he was accused of making threatening statements towards another student.

According to the West Milton Police Department, the eighth grader is being charged with making a false alarm, a misdemeanor.

On Thursday, police searched the boy’s locker and did not find any weapons or any evidence that he had brought a weapon to school.

Another student reported the boy’s statement to school officials, who took appropriate action, Superintendent Brad Ritchey said.

The middle school administration investigated the statement and called law enforcement, and the student has been disciplined, he said.

“The student made some remarks that were inappropriate for school and the situation has been dealt with,” he said.
