CASSTOWN — Bryce Redick, a junior at Miami East High School, was selected by audition to participate in the 2016 Ohio Music Education Association All-State Choir. Redick is the first OMEA All-State student from Miami East High School.

A total of 161 students were selected for the All-State Choir. There are a total of eight voice parts in the choir. There are two reviewers per section for a total of 16 reviewers. Reviewers carefully and blindly screened and scored each voice. The process then adds the scores from both reviewers together and ranks the students.

Students selected for the choir will have two regional rehearsals before having mass choir rehearsals in January. The Choir will rehearse Jan. 28-30, 2016. The performance will be in the afternoon on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Cincinnati Convention Center.

Dr. Paul Rardin, director of choral activities at Temple University will be conducting the All State Choir. Redick is a member of Tri-M Music Honor Society, he is involved in Miami East High School football, track, choir and Miami East musicals.

He is the son of Sandy Moore and David Redick.
