Driver cited in serious accident


Glass, 68, of Dayton, failed to stop at the intersection of 202 and 41

MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Sheriff’s Office cited one person for failing to stop at a stop light and causing a serious accident at the intersection of State Route 202 and 41 on Friday morning.

The accident occurred when the SUV, which was southbound on state Route 202, ran a red light and was struck by the van, which was eastbound on state Route 41, according to Lt. Mike Whaley. The crash caused the SUV to flip on its top. NO serious or life-threatening injuries were reported.

The driver of the SUV, Christine Glass, 68, of Dayton, was cited for failure to stop at a stop light. She was transported to Upper Valley medical Center with unknown injuries.

The driver of the van, Wayne Grove, 35, of Troy, and his passenger, who was not identified, were also transported to Upper Valley Medical Center.

Lt. Whaley said drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor in this incident.

The crash was reported around 11:35 a.m.
