Garbry Road Water Main Extension Project to begin

PIQUA — Construction for the Garbry Road Water Main Extension in the city of Piqua is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 3, 2015. This project in general consists of the installation of approximately 2500 LF of 16” ductile iron water main, along with valves, hydrants, and other miscellaneous fixtures. Work also includes the restoration of excavated areas including, asphalt pavement, and turf.

There will not be a complete closure of the roadway during this time. Local traffic will be maintained throughout construction for Garbry Road.

The anticipated completion is Sept. 30, 2015.

The contract was awarded to Underground Utilities, Inc of Bellevue at an estimated cost of $325,920.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone area.

All work is weather permitting.
