PIQUA — Piqua police are finishing up their investigation into the death of a man in Piqua on Tuesday night. The death was found to be an accident.

“Our investigation is nearing completion, and we attended the autopsy today,” Chief Bruce Jamison of the Piqua Police Department said. “All indications are that this was an accidental death. Just for the privacy of the victim and his family, we’re not releasing any other details.”

Piqua police and the Piqua Rescue Squad were dispatched to a residence on the 1000 block of Camp Street on a report of an unresponsive man at 6:55 p.m., according to previous reports. The man was found outdoors and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name was Randy Swallow, 57, of that address.

The coroner was contacted and detectives processed the scene. The death was first labeled suspicious due to the circumstances and unreleased details of the scene.
