PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports and Miami County Municipal Court records.

ASSIST SQUAD: A woman was found not breathing at a residence on Blaine Avenue on Oct. 12 at around 7:45 a.m. The woman was pronounced deceased.

ANIMAL PROBLEM: There was a report of a dog attacking a man on the man’s property on South Wayne Street on Oct. 12 at 8:15 a.m. The man reportedly shot the dog. The injured dog was taken to the vet by its owners. The man had a permit to carry a concealed handgun. No criminal charges were filed.

TRESPASSING: There was a report of a male subject walking around a property on West High Street at night between Oct. 11-12. Someone was warned for trespassing.

AGENCY ASSIST: A man passed out and hit his head on the floor at the Outpatient Care Center on Looney Road on Oct. 12 at 1:30 p.m. It caused a head wound. He appeared to exhibit post-seizure symptoms and was reportedly somewhat combative toward the squad. He was medicated and transported to UVMC for further medical treatment.

FOUND PROPERTY: A bicycle was found on West Greene Street on Oct. 12 at around 2:30 p.m.

A bicycle was found in the parking lot of the city building on North Wayne Street on Oct. 12 at around 5:30 p.m.

An abandoned boat was found in the water near the Garnsey bridge on Oct. 13 at around 8:20 a.m.

A wallet was recovered in an alley in the area of South Wayne and Wood streets on Oct. 13 at 9 a.m.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: There was a report of someone shooting a pellet gun at another person and damaging a residence on New Street on Oct. 9.

Someone spray-painted graffiti on large rocks on a property on North Sunset Drive overnight between Oct. 12-13.

Juveniles were reportedly throwing rocks during recess on Park Avenue and struck a parked vehicle on Oct. 13 at around 1 p.m. The vehicle was dented, and its back window was broken. Two male juveniles were cited for second-degree misdemeanor criminal damaging.

SUSPICIOUS: There was a report of a man in a white truck chasing two juveniles down an alley on West High Street on Oct. 12 at 5:11 p.m. The juveniles said that the man pulled a gun on them before getting inside the truck and driving away.

FRAUD: A complainant reported her elderly mother possibly being defrauded out of money on West Ash Street on Oct. 12.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of a man sleeping on a front porch on Home Avenue on Oct. 13 at around midnight. He was found to be intoxicated and given a ride home. Steven D. Jones, 46, of Troy, was cited for minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with this incident.

WELFARE CHECK: A restaurant owner noticed that a customer had not gotten food for a couple days on Oct. 13, so the restaurant owner went to check on the woman as she gets food from the restaurant every day. She was heard through a window yelling for help as she had fallen and could not get up. Officers entered through a window, and a squad transported her to the hospital.

THEFT: A bicycle was reported stolen from Camp Street on Oct. 13 at 6:37 p.m.

A projector was reported stolen from a back yard on South Roosevelt Avenue on Oct. 13 at 7:12 p.m.

A male suspect reportedly dropped merchandise he was attempting to steal from Walmart on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. He fled from the scene.
