PIQUA — The Piqua Central High School class of 1956 celebrated their 60th class reunion over the weekend of Sept. 16-18. The reunion began with classmates and spouses attending the Piqua vs. West Carrollton football game and later joining other classmates at Heck Yeah! for more fun and fellowship.
On Saturday, Sept. 17, 44 classmates and 27 spouses/guests gathered at Edison State Community College and remembered the good times, the fun times and reminisced about the last 60 years. There were 14 classmates who traveled from out of state for the weekend. In addition cities from all over the state of Ohio, nine states were represented, including California, Idaho, Wyoming, Texas, Florida, Connecticut, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Indiana.
The reunion dinner opened with the singing of the national anthem and prayer by Norbert Barhorst. During the evening, the group remembered deceased classmates and enjoyed a video of high school days. The evening concluded with the singing of the Alma Mater and fight song.
On Sunday, Sept. 18, the group gathered at Heck Yeah! for breakfast and more fellowship before bidding farewell to each other and planning to meet again in five years.
