Support on the home front


Mike Ullery | Daily Call Chief Bruce Jamison and Deputy Chief Marty Grove of the Piqua Police Department were presented The Patriot Award by the Department of Defense during a ceremony at Piqua City Hall of Wednesday. The award, given for employer support of the National Guard and Reserve, was presented by Eddie Reed, a member of the Ohio Vets Committee. On hand to witness the awards were Leslie Lloyd and her daughters Kamea, 7, and Ava, 15 months. Loyd’s husband, 1st Lt. Phil Lloyd, a Piqua police officer, is currently on a deployment with the United States Army Reserve, where he serves as a combat surgical nurse. Reed said that while Jamison and Grove were chosen as recipients, the awards reflect well on the entire department and the City of Piqua.
