PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports and Miami County Municipal Court records.
CITIZEN ASSIST: An empty syringe with no needle was found in the street on W. Greene Street on Aug. 1 at 8:40 a.m. An officer disposed of the syringe.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: There was a report of a disturbance on Young Street on Aug. 1 at 1:40 p.m. A subject was reportedly being verbal with a landlord and trying to fight the landlord. The subject was warned for disorderly conduct.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Security at the Miami Valley Centre Mall reported that someone had set off a paintball grenade in the men’s restroom on Aug. 1 between 7:20-10 p.m.
A vehicle’s tire was slashed on Parkridge Place overnight between Aug. 1-2.
THEFT: Two packages were reported stolen from a porch on S. Main Street sometime between Aug. 1-2.
DRUG OVERDOSE: Police and medics were dispatched to a possible drug overdose on W. High Street on Aug. 2 at 11 p.m. A male subject was found on the ground. The squard treated the male. A capsule containing a brown powder was reportedly found in the subject’s pocket. He was transported to UVMC.
SUSPICIOUS: A resident reported that he found his front door standing open after he had already locked it and went to bed for the evening on N. Downing Street at 11:40 p.m. Nothing was reported missing.
RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY: James E. Burnett, 44, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor receiving stolen property on Aug. 1.
Joseph A. Hamilton, 47, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor receiving stolen property on Aug. 1.
Christina M. Hobbs, 40, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor receiving stolen property on Aug. 2.
