July 5

COURT WARNING: A deputy was on court security for Judge Christoper Gee’s court room and was screening Gary Ellis prior to his hearing, scheduled for 2:30 p.m., he turned over his knife. The deputy thanked him for volunteering the knife and informed him that he was confiscating the knife. The deputy further explained that they could charge him for bringing the knife into the building, but the deputy was going to give him a warning for this incident. The knife was turned into the property room for disposal.

July 6

NOT EVERY KISS BEGINS WITH K: A deputy was dispatched to 11000 block of Jones Road in Laura, in reference to an identity theft. The resident states he learned that a line of credit was opened at Kay Jewelers in the amount $7,000 and that $4,000 had already been spent. He stated he did receive a packet indicating fraud from Kay’s and they advised him to call the police as well. The deputy informed Mr. Long to fill out an affidavit from the Ohio Attorney General Office as well.

STOLEN VEHICLE: A deputy located a stolen vehicle out of Harrison Township traveling east on State Route

40 near State Route202. The deputy followed the vehicle into a gas station parking lot in Huber Heights where the defendant got out of truck. He was then arrested for receiving stolen property, criminal tools, DUS, and stop light violation.
