Piqua BMV to close

The Ohio BMV office located in the Miami Valley Centre Mall in Piqua will be closing its doors at the end of business hours on Friday. Officials at the Piqua BMV were not allowed to provide information on the closing and attempts to reach a representative from the Ohio Department of Public Safety in Columbus were unsuccessful. Miami Valley Centre Mall manager Peggy Henthorne said that the lease was up for renewal and she believes that since Piqua Deputy Registrar Dailene Collins intends to retire, the Ohio BMV chose to close the office. Henthorne said that they are “very sad” to see the BMV close their doors. It is expected that the Ohio Department of Public Safety will refer all Miami County customers to it office on Experiment Farm in Troy.
