Premier training

CareFlight pilot Earl Daniels gives a tour of a CareFlight helicopter to members of the Piqua Fire Department on Wednesday afternoon. Daniels, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with more than 20 years experience, has been flying for Premier Health/CareFlight for the past five years. Piqua firefighter/paramedics spent a half-day updating their knowledge of working with CareFlight then toured the helicopter, practiced “hot-loading” (loading a patient aboard the helicopter with the engine running and rotors turning just over their heads), along with emergency procedures should the need arise to deal with an emergency aboard the medical rescue helicopter.
