PIQUA — The following are highlights from the Piqua police reports. All information is provided by Piqua police reports.
HIT SKIP ACCIDENT: There was a report of a hit skip accident on West High Street on June 13 at 8 a.m.
Another hit skip accident was reported on Brentwood Avenue on June 13 at 8 a.m.
A hit skip accident was reported on Manier Avenue on June 13 at 10:25 p.m.
A hit skip accident was reported on East Main Street on June 15 at 3:33 a.m.
THEFT: A vehicle on West Ash Street was entered overnight between June 12-13. Items were reportedly taken, but later recovered by the owner.
A vehicle was broken into on Nicklin Avenue overnight between June 12-13. A cell phone was reported as stolen.
A wallet was reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Second Street overnight between June 13-14.
A gas can was reportedly stolen on West Parkway Drive on June 14 at 11:10 a.m.
A vehicle was reportedly stolen on Lindsey Street on June 14 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Johnathan I. Reineke, Jr., 25, of Piqua was charged with fourth-degree felony theft in connection with this incident. Reineke spent the night in jail before he was arraigned and released on June 15. A preliminary hearing for Reineke is scheduled for June 22.
A purse was reported as lost or stolen on South Downing Street on June 14 at 2 p.m.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE: A vehicle was keyed overnight on Orr Street between June 12-13.
A vehicle was keyed while parked in a parking lot on South Downing Street on June 13 between 4:45 p.m. and 10:48 p.m.
A vehicle was broken into on Second Street overnight between June 13-14. The glove box was broken, but no items were missing.
A complainant reported that someone “wiped human feces on the side of his vehicle” on West High Street on June 14 at 12:38 p.m., according to police reports. There was no damage to the vehicle, but the complainant wanted to report it.
DRUG OVERDOSE: A female subject was found unconscious from a suspected overdose of heroin on Washington Avenue on June 13 at 2 p.m. The subject was taken to the Upper Valley Medical Center for treatment.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Two female subjects were reportedly involved in a physical altercation at Pitsenbarger Park on June 13 at 7 p.m. Heather M. Behm, 35, of Piqua was charged with minor misdemeanor disorderly conduct in connection with this incident.
Subjects were reportedly arguing in the street on South Main Street and were warned for disorderly conduct on June 13 at 8 p.m.
CRASH: There was report of traffic accident in the area of South Street and McKinley Avenue on June 13 at 10:13 p.m. A passenger refused medical treatment.
A traffic accident was reported on North Main Street on June 14 at 6:11 p.m.
MENACING: Two female subjects claimed that a male subject pointed a shotgun at them on Sharon Drive on June 14 at 12:08 a.m. The male subject stated he did not know the women.
FOUND PROPERTY: A syringe was found on South Main Street on June 14 at 9 a.m. Police disposed of the syringe.
ASSAULT: An assault was reported on Briarcliff Avenue on June 14 at 10:42 p.m. The suspect and victim reportedly knew each other. Aaron T. Graves, 46, of Piqua was charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault in connection with this incident.
ANIMAL PROBLEM: A subject reported that a kitten was in a sewer drain at Kroger on June 14 at 10:48 p.m. “Officers attempted to remove the kitten from the drain, but the kitten ran away,” according to police reports.
BURGLARY: There was a report of a home burglary on Park Avenue on June 15 at 4:11 a.m. The victims reportedly knew the suspects who ran away from the scene.
