Injuries minor in US36 crash

SPRINGCREEK TOWNSHIP – A Piqua man suffered relatively minor injuries following a roll-over crash on US 36 near Casstown-Sidney Road on Thursday morning.

The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. when the driver of a westbound pickup truck lost control, went left of center and off the left side of the highway, narrowly missing a utility pole, before rolling the vehicle. According to Fletcher fire officials on the scene, the truck skidded on its top across the highway where it rolled again in the opposite ditch, landing on its wheels.

The driver, Lucas Mulvihill was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center by the St. Paris Rescue Squad. His injuries are not life-threatening. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Chief Deputy Dave Duchak of the Miami County Sheriff’s Office said that Mulvihill will be cited for failure to control.
