Veterans Memorial re-dedicated


Mike Ullery | Daily Call Jim Miller of Troy, former U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer, delivers the keynote address at Saturday’s re-dedication of the Veterans Monument at Miami Memorial Park near Covington. Seated on the far left is Charles D. “Chuck” Morrow who, like Miller is a Vietnam veteran. Miller earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 38 Oak Leaf Clusters, and an Army Commendation Medal with “V” device for Valor during his year-long tour flying UH-1D Huey helicopters. Morrow, who served as Master of Ceremonies for the event and resides in Holly Springs, MS, was awarded three Silver Star medals, five Distinguished Flying Crosses and 20 Air Medals. Seated at right is Barry Van Kirk of Troy who performed a a pair of musical selections.
