PIQUA — Piqua police, with assistance from Sidney police and a K9 unit, executed a search warrant at 741 and 741 1/2 S. Main St. on Thursday morning.
“As part of our ongoing drug investigations within the city of Piqua, led to evidence that drug trafficking was taking place at 741 and 741 1/2 South Main Street,” said Deputy Chief Marty Grove. “A search warrant was obtained by our detective section and executed.”
“We want drug dealers and their associates to understand that they don’t get a free pass after we arrest them and while they wait for their day in court,” said Piqua Chief of Police Bruce Jamison. “We continue to work our drug cases wherever the evidence leads us, even if an offender has already been charged and released from jail.”
As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old female was taken into custody.
Arrested was Coraliss Preston, 59, of Piqua. She faces a single charge of permitting drug abuse, a felony of the fifth degree.
Two other subjects were in the downstairs apartment when the warrant was executed. Grove said that they were released, but that charges could be pending against them as well.
Officers found a small amount of marijuana and “numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia” during Thursday’s search.
Preston was arrested in January during the execution of a search warrant at 312 Pinewood Ave., in Piqua. She faced charges of child endangering and permitting drug abuse from that incident.
