MIAMI COUNTY — A Camden woman was taken into custody this week and arraigned on Friday on active warrants for her arrest, including for multiple charges filed in Piqua.
Lora K. Coppock, 51, is facing multiples charges of drug possession in addition to misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident. Former addresses list Coppock as being from Camden, Greenville, and Piqua at different times.
Current charges filed against Coppock that are still open include:
• First-degree misdemeanor stopping after accident involving injury to persons or property, which was filed against filed against Coppock in July 2015. According to court records, Coppock allegedly left the scene without exchanging information after backing into another car in the Speedway gas station parking lot located on Covington Avenue in Piqua.
• Fifth-degree felony possession of cocaine, minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana, fourth-degree misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and OVI, which were filed against Coppock in September 2015. According to court records, Coppock was reportedly found to be operating a vehicle under the influence in the Speedway parking lot located on Scott Drive in Piqua.
Results from the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab reportedly confirmed that substances found in Coppock’s vehicle at that time were marijuana and cocaine. She also reportedly tested positive for having marijuana and cocaine in her system at the time of this incident. A pipe was also recovered from Coppock’s vehicle at the time of that incident.
• Two counts of fifth-degree felony drug possession, filed against Coppock on Wednesday. Most recently, a Tipp City officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Coppock was driving on Tuesday in the area of the I-75 northbound exit at the 69 exit off-ramp in Tipp City. The officer reportedly saw a black garbage bag taped over the front passenger window. The officer then found that she had two active warrants out of Miami County and had a prior history of drug possession and drug trafficking.
Another officer conducted a K9 search of the vehicle, and the K9 unit gave a positive alert on the driver’s side door. According to court records, a glass pipe, a digital scale, and suspected drugs were found within the vehicle Coppock was driving. The suspected drugs included possible marijuana, cocaine, and MDMA, a form of ecstasy.
The suspected drugs were sent to the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab for further testing. The officer issued Coppock a summons and released her from the scene.
Coppock was later taken into custody in Covington, according to the Miami County Jail roster. She is currently being held at the Miami County Jail on a total of $17,500 bond.
