• BENEFIT: A benefit for Mackenzie Currier, who is autistic, to help raise funds for her to receive a service dog, will be from 5-11 p.m. at the Tipp City American Legion, 202 E. Main St., Tipp City. • PANCAKES AND SALE: A pancake breakfast and garage sale will be from 7 a.m. to noon at the A.B. • SOUPER BOWL: The Tippecanoe Historical Society is holding a Souper Bowl dinner fundraiser at the Zion Lutheran Church on the corner of Third and Walnut streets in downtown Tipp City, from 5:30-7 p.m. The cost is $20 per ticket. This purchases your meal as well as a ceramic bowl made by local artist Sally Watson, which you get to take home with you. The menu is your choice of potato, vegetable and chicken corn soup (the same as what was served at the Little Country Schoolhouse), bread, dessert and drink. Tickets may be purchased at the Historical Society Museum at 20 N. Third St. on Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m. or Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon at Tipp Monroe Community Services, 2 E. • HOLIDAY BAZAAR: The Troy Seniors Citizens Center, 134 N. Market St., Troy, will offer it annual holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crafts, made by members, will be available for sale, along with baked goods. A rummage sale also will be offered. • CRAFT SHOW: The Bradford Public Library will offer its annual craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• RUMMAGE SALE: A rummage and bake sale will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, corner of Wood and Downing streets, Piqua.

• SHARE-A-MEAL: The First United Church of Christ’s Share-A-Meal will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bring your family and friends for a warm meal and fellowship. Organizers will be serving a Thanksgiving feast, including turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry salad, dessert and beverages. The monthly Share-A-Meal Program is on the first Saturday of each month at First United Church of Christ on the corner of South Market and Canal street, Troy. Use the Canal Street entrance where the church is handicapped accessible.

• BAZAAR: The 10th annual Cookson Holiday Bazaar, sponsored by the PTO, will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cookson Elementary School, 921 Mystic Lane, Troy. More than 40-plus vendors will be on hand.

• BLUEGRASS: Bluegrass with The Vintage Ramblers, will be offered at the American Legion Post 586, 377 N. 3rd St., Tipp City. An open-stage bluegrass jam will be offered and there is free admission and parking. Food and refreshments will be available.

• BARBECUE CHICKEN: The Pleasant Hill VFW Post 6557, 7578 W. Fenner Road, Ludlow Falls, will offer a half barbecue chicken, oriental slaw, green beans for $8 from 5-7 p.m.

• RUMMAGE SALE: St. John’s United Church of Christ, 130 S. Walnut St., Troy, will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enter the side door on Canal Street.

• PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ, corner of State Routes 48 and 718, will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8-11 a.m. The cost is a donation accepted for church organ repair. • PRAYER BREAKFAST: The Troy Community Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Community Center, Troy.

• SPAGHETTI DINNER: An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be offered from 3-7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 622 S. Market St., Troy, to benefit Troy Post 43 baseball. Meals will include spaghetti, salad bar, bread, dessert and drinks for $7.75 for adults and $4.50 for children 13 and younger.

• LEAF GAMES: The Miami County Park District will hold its new Nature Play Date “Leaf Games” program at 2 p.m. at Stillwater Prairie Reserve, 9750 State Route 185 in Covington. • OPEN HOUSE: A new food pantry, located at the Highland Church, 7210 S. Jay Road, West Milton, will have an open house from 12:30-2 p.m. Beginning in December, those in need can come to the food pantry on the third Sunday of the month with an ID and proof of being a local resident, for assistance.

• BREAKFAST: The Pleasant Hill VFW Post 6557, 7578 W. Fenner Road, Ludlow Falls, will offer made-to-order breakfasts ala cart from 8-10 a.m.

• BREAKFAST: The Tipp City American Legion Riders Post 586 will prepare an all-you-can eat breakfast from 8-11 a.m. for $6. Items available will be eggs your way, toast, bacon, sausage, home fries, pancakes, waffles, sausage gravy, biscuits, French toast, cinnamon rolls, fruit and juices.

• HEALTH FAIR: Miami County Public Health will be hosting a Veterans Day Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for veterans and widows of veterans. MCPH has partnered with Miami County Veteran’s Services, Miami County Dental Clinic, Miami County Recovery Council, Miami Valley Honor Flight and Trinity Reiki to offer a variety of services. It will be held at the Hobart Center for County Government, 510 W. Water St., Troy. A $1 off coupon will be given to patrons who donate an item. A bake sale also will raise funds for Fisher’s community service projects and travel costs for pageants she attends.

• TINY TOTS: Tiny Tots meet from 11-11:30 a.m. at the Milton-Union Public Library in West Milton. • ENTRANCE CLOSED: The north entrance to the Troy-Miami County Public Library will be closed for construction. During this time, the library can be accessed through the south entrance. There will also be a ramp for wheelchair and stroller access. The Friends of the Library will not be accepting donations while their room is closed off during construction.

• HEATH TO SPEAK: The Troy-Miami County Public Library, 419 W. Main St., Troy, will host Brock Heath, a Marine Corps Infantry veteran and Troy City Councilman, at 6 p.m. Heath will speak about veterans, their role in society, what shapes the way vets think and see the world, and how best to show appreciation as a civilian. • ASTRONOMY CLUB: The Stillwater Stargazers Astronomy Club will have a demonstration on the use of a telescope at the Troy-Miami County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Thanks to the Stillwater Stargazers Astronomy Club’s donation, the Troy library will have the telescope available for loan beginning the week of Nov. 14.

• TRUSTEES MEETING: The Tipp City Seniors Board of Trustees will meet at 10 a.m. at 320 S. First St., Tipp City. The public is welcome. The members’ annual meeting will follow at 11 a.m. A carry-in luncheon will be at nooon. Entertainment will be “Our Time in History.”

• CLASS LUNCH: Members of the Piqua High School class of 1950 will meet for lunch at noon at China East in Piqua. Partners and friends are welcome to attend.

• VETERANS TO BE HONORED: Korean War Era veterans of the Miami Valley will be honored at 11:30 a.m. in the Robinson Theater at Edison State Community College. The seven-member barbershop group, Thienn Snipps, led by former Edison State Professor and Vietnam veteran Larry Dragosavac, will honor the veterans by performing patriotic songs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. The public is invited to pay tribute to these heroes, and admission is free.

• CAT FOOD DRIVE: A cat food — and people food — drive will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bethany Center, Piqua, sponsored by the Purrs of Piqua organization. Donations will be used to help low-income residents with cat food for their pets.

• HEALTH TREKKERS: The Miami County Park District will hold its Health Trekkers program from 10-11 a.m. at Hobart Urban Nature Preserve, 1400 Tyrone in Troy. Take a hike for health and join park district health and wellness specialist, registered nurse Marion for this weekly low impact walk held each Thursday morning. Relevant topics such as heart health, diet and nutrition, diabetes prevention, stress relief and many others will be discussed during this six week walking series. Remember to wear weather appropriate gear and walking shoes for comfort. Registration not required but highly recommended. • VETERANS CEREMONY — A Veterans Day ceremony and program has been scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial, Riverside Cemetery. The ceremony and program are sponsored by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard, Troy, Ohio. The inclement weather location is the VFW Post, 2220 LeFevre Road, Troy, Ohio.

• MOVIE: Let’s Go to the Movies at Hayner! will feature “At War With the Army,” at 7:30 p.m. at the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center. A 1950 comedy with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin who find mishaps and hi-jinks at training camp. This series features a movie classic with cafe style seating and an introduction to the film. Films, popcorn, and soda pop are all free. The film series is intended for adult audiences and may not be appropriate for children under 13. Enjoy a guided, nighttime hike through the woods followed by a warm crackling fire and hot cup of homemade soup. Hikers are encouraged to bring a can of soup for donation to a local food pantry.
