Fletcher UMC to host Light Up the Park and revival
FLETCHER — The Fletcher United Methodist Church will kick off their Lawn Chair Revival with a Light Up the Park event from 5-7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27, with food, entertainment and fellowship. On the following day, Monday, July 28 through Wednesday, July 30, the Fletcher UMC Old-Fashioned Revival will be held with the Rev. Jack Chalk conducting services each evening at the Fletcher Community Park at 7 p.m. Be sure to bring a lawn chair. If the weather is not cooperative, the event will be held inside.
Vietnamese sisters visit Piqua’s Catholic churches
PIQUA — On Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27, the missionary sisters who work in Vietnam from the Dominican Sisters of Mary Immaculate Province, will be sharing their mission work during masses at St. Mary and St. Boniface. Sister Cecilianna Le, O.P., will be speaking about the mission work that her order is involved with in Vietnam. Along with other Works of Mercy, the sisters evangelize, feed the hungry, instruct the children, provide safe drinking water, and visit the sick. Prayers will be offered Our Father in the Vietnamese language during the masses this weekend.
A potkuck dinner will be held following St. Mary’s 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday in the Piqua Catholic School North Street Campus cafeteria. The Mission and Adult Faith Formation Committees are preparing some Vietnamese dishes to share, and all are welcome. Cyrene celebrates 160th
PIQUA - Cyrene AME Church will celebrate its 160th year church anniversary at 4 p.m., Sunday, 227 West Ash St., Piqua, with the Rev. Dr. Gene B. Moore Jr., of New Life Baptist Church, Troy, as the guest speaker. Make plans to attend this unique event.
