PIQUA — If you have always wanted to learn to quilt, the Piqua Public Library is sponsoring a free beginner’s workshop on Saturday, June 28.
Sign up now for this daylong session in which you will be shown the basics of piecing and quilting. Attendees will begin creating an 18” hand-stitched quilt block. When finished, this block can be used as a wall hanging, or pillow cover. All fabric, thread, and batting will be provided. Attendees will be asked to bring: needles (“betweens” size 9 or 10); sewing scissors (10” to 12”); a quilting or embroidery hoop; and a quilter’s thimble (if possible).
This class will be held in the Library’s Louis Program Room from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a lunch break, but no lunch is provided. You must sign up in advance; class size is limited. Stop by the library, or call 773-6753 to register.
More information about these and other upcoming events can be found on the library calendar at www1.youseemore.com/piqua
