PIQUA — A 1997 black Jeep Grand Cherokee crept along the 500 block of Wood Street late Thursday afternoon when suddenly the barrel of a shotgun emerge d from the vehicle’s window and fired a shot at two people walking in the neighborhood.
Police have arrested one of the two men they say are responsible and the second remains on the loose with a warrant out for his arrest.
Authorities took into custody a 15-year-old male passenger of the Jeep and have charged him with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor.
The teen allegedly also displayed a handgun, but did not fire it.
The driver of the Jeep and the man who allegedly fired the shotgun, Justin L. Sturgeon, 18, at large, remains on the loose, but the Piqua Police Department has filed a warrant for his arrest for two counts of felonious assault, second-degree felonies.
Sturgeon may still be driving the vehicle around, and it has a licence plate of BE01VW.
At approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday the Jeep drove up to two people walking on the sidewalk in the area and fired, according to the Piqua Police Department.
