Traffic stop nets heroin charges

TROY — Two women from Sidney face felony possession of heroin charges after the Piqua post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped their vehicle on Dye Mill Road and County Road 25A, near Troy, for a moving violation at 10 p.m. Tuesday evening.

According to OSP Piqua Post Criminal Patrol Supervisor Sgt. Chris Coverstone, Amanda Green, 33, of Sidney was charged with fourth-degree felony possession of heroin; and Lindsey Sherman, 25, of Sidney, was charged with fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools and possession of heroin.

Coverstone said syringes and heroin were found during an investigative search of the vehicle. The heroin and syringes were confiscated by OSP at the Piqua post during the interview process.
