PIQUA — SkillsUSA is the national organization for more than 300,000 students and instructors in trade, industrial, technical and health occupation related programs in public high school and community colleges. It is the largest on-campus student organization at the Career Center with over 400 member participants from 13 career and technical programs. Upper Valley Career Center students participated in the organizations regional level competitions held recently at Greene County Career Center. Top finishers earning bronze, silver, and gold medals will advance to the state competition in April.
Those from the Upper Valley Career Center placing in their competitions are as follows: Architectural Drafting-Bronze: Natalia Sainz; Automotive Technology - Silver: Caleb Withrow; Basic Health Care-Gold: Cindy Larger; Collision Repair - Silver:Peyton Barhorst; Cosmetology - Silver: Katelyn Phillis; Health Knowledge Bowl - Bronze: Bree Bates, Hannah Bergman, Destini Speraw, Breanna Abbott; Nurse Assisting - Gold: Christin Libbee; Open and Closing Ceremony - Bronze: Heaven Curtis, Rachel Lacey, Sonya Peltier, Madyson Kuhn, Macy Gantt, Makayla Engley, Arian Braun; Precision Machining - Bronze: Darren Gephart; Prepared Speech - Bronze: Haley Robbins; Promotional Bulletin Board - Gold: Brianna Duben, Victoria Ries; Related Technical Math - Silver: Trace Poppe; Technical Drafting - Bronze: Logan Walters; Welding - Silver: Jerry Butler.
