Miami District Cub Scouts hold derby

PIQUA — The Miami District of the Miami Valley Council Boy Scouts of America held their Pinewood Derby on Saturday, March 1, in Piqua at the Miami Valley Centre Mall. Cub Scouts from 12 packs participated. The three district winners were Andrew Hamish (Pack 413), Hunter Case (Pack 295) and Dalton Trucksis (Pack 413).

Winning results of other races were:

• Tiger race: Kyle Ross (Pack 395), Evan McEntyre (Pack 285) and Aidan Keener (Pack 295).

• Wolf race: Caellan Givler (Pack 365), Aaron Oates (Pack 413) and Tommy Grise (Pack 295).

• Bear race: Michael Nelson (Pack 344), Travis Ross (Pack 395) and Matthew Galbreath (Pack 344).

• Webelos race: Jayden Hatcher (Pack 395), Andrew Oates (Pack 413) and Travis Ward (Pack 5).

• Sibling race: Audrey Oates (Pack 413), Logan McEntyre (Pack 285) and Christopher Galbreath (Pack 344).

Miami District Cub Scouts would like to thank Cub Scout Pack 295 from Westminster Presbyterian Church for providing the track and running the races, the Miami Valley Centre Mall for the location and setup and Sears for providing a large-screen monitor. The district race committee included Al Fledderman, Carl Reck and Katelyn Ross, district executive.
