The time has come again for Piqua High School freshman, sophomores, and juniors to schedule for their next school year. As the second semester starts and students start to realize the 2013-1014 school is coming to a fast close, they need to start thinking about what classes to take. Normal classes such as regular English and world language classes are available for the 2014-2015 school year, but so are many new classes. Sophomore guidance counselor Toni Riley said that for this year, counselors will give presentations to students in their English or social studies classes and then come back another day to take them to the computer lab to electronically pick their classes for next year. According to Riley, the counselors would like to have scheduling “done for the students around the time sophomores take their Ohio Graduation Tests”. Once all students have scheduled, the master schedule will be created and students’ schedules will officially be created. New classes for next school year range from English elective classes to several new gym classes. New classes include: Drama, Digital Storytelling, Math Through Modeling, Ecology/Genetics, Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Intro to Allied Health, Organic Chemistry, AP Physics C: Mechanics, Electricity, & Magnetism, Leadership Development, Digital Media Marketing, Cardio Kickboxing, Sports Agility, Hip Hop Abs, Yoga/Pilates, Zumba, and High Intensity Interval Training. The 2014-2015 school year should be an interesting one for students and a fun one with all of the new classes available.
