Deborah Retman is retiring as a biology teacher at Piqua High School at the end of this school year. Retman graduated from Xenia High School in 1979. She attended Ohio University and Wright State University. She graduated from college in 1983. Retman’s favorite part of teaching is her students. She also is very passionate about biology. “I have taught for 30 years in this same room,” said Retman. But she also taught summer school at Xenia. She started teaching in 1984. In her free time, Retman likes to read, ride her horses, go hiking, and do cross stitch. When asked if she has any kids, Retman replied, “Just the four-legged variety!” Most students at Piqua High School understand that Retman is known for always having dogs and horses.
